I got upset yesterday because I lost a whole bunch of pictures from my iPhone. I swear, this whole iCloud thing is working against me with the whole syncing business. Sigh.. Anyways, I was looking for the pictures I took from when we went to the DST Carnival and I couldn't find them. Nothing upsets me more than losing a portion of my picture collection - this is probably how it feels like losing a fragment of my memories!
But, alhamdulillah, I found some of the DST Carnival pictures in my laptop's trash can! Not all of them though; I lost a good number of videos but still, I'm grateful! Anyways here they are! Yes, all TWENTY of them! Not taking any more chances! :D
That morning we whined about Brunei not having a zoo and us having to resort to going to the pet store (which is slim pickings, let's be honest) to bring Hakeem to look at animals. They only had a bunch of hamsters and three or four rabbits.
Then we had breakfast at Fleur de Lys
Eggs florentine - my favourite FDL brekkie :)
Hakeem having his American breakfast
After breakfast we were going to go to Jerudong Polo Club next to take Hakeem to look at the rather skinny horses, but on the way there the DST Carnival caught our eye so made a u-turn. Parked our car in the designated area and boarded the shuttle bus to the carnival instead! :)
And I'm glad we did because there was a horse-riding session offered free of charge! :)
They even had a cute pony for kids to go on
But when it was our turn, we could only go on the big horse. I guess the pony needed a well-deserved break.
Hakeem hopping on board!
I'm surprised he was very well-behaved on the horse and wasn't scared or anything
Afterwards, he kept saying it was fun and he was happy. Even just now when I showed him these pictures, he still commented "Fun!"
There were other things going on too - they had rabbits, chickens and a peacock for us to see.
Our prayers for a zoo was answered (sort of) that day! :)
They even had a mini zoo! But it was a reptiles show so as usual, Hakeem wasn't into it too much. He's like me in that sense.
Hakeem was exclaiming, "Eee BIG gagak!" Gagak is his word for lizards, originating from the work "cicak"
More "gagak"
You can't really see it from this picture, but honestly this snake was HUMUNGOUS. It was huge. It's probably as big as the guy's thigh, who by the way was happily patting the snake like it was his good buddy. I only found that a bit disturbing.
We were happier outside of the reptile mini zoo so we went to the bouncer. Didn't stay long because it started to rain.
Back in the shuttle bus on the way back to our car
Goodbye DST Carnival! It was fun while it lasted. Please hold another one end of this year! :)
